Great sound begins on set. My philosophy is simple: the cleaner and more accurate the dialogue is captured during production, the smoother the workflow becomes in post.
A well-recorded performance preserves the authenticity of the moment, saves the production from costly and time-consuming ADR sessions, and ultimately gives the director and editor more flexibility to shape the story without technical limitations.
To achieve this, I use a professional kit built for both reliability and precision. Sennheiser and Sound Devices wireless systems paired with Sennheiser shotguns and DPA, Countryman, and Sanken lavaliers provide pristine capture across a wide range of environments.
Everything is mixed and routed through a Sound Devices Scorpio mixer, giving me the flexibility to embed timecode, deliver reference audio to the camera, and ensure robust monitoring so that everyone on set hears the performance exactly as it happens.
By approaching every take with precision and care, I make sure the recorded dialogue provides a strong foundation for the mix, ensuring that what’s heard in the final cut feels both natural and intentional.
